Galaxy 0, Dynamo 0 -- quote sheet

LOS ANGELES GALAXY 0, HOUSTON DYNAMO 0

LOS ANGELES GALAXY HEAD COACH FRANK YALLOP

On the game:

"Well, a clean sheet was good for us, but when you're at home you want to score a goal. In the first half, we had some chances to score and we didn't. In the second half, we lost some steam and had to push at the end to try to win the game. Not to concede a goal is good, but not to score either isn't. I thought the team gave me everything they could again. The team tried hard, but they just weren't as creative in the second half. We struggled to create anything decent in the second half, which was negative. But all and all it was a great effort by the guys."

LOS ANGELES GALAXY FORWARD HERCULEZ GOMEZ

On the game:

"We did the best we could with the team effort that we demonstrated. I think Kevin (Hartman) did an excellent job handling our back four. Our back four did exceptionally well, but not lucky enough to get a goal. I got a little tripped up. I think the referee came a little into play. It's a reoccurring trend since the World Cup started."

On what needs to improve:

"We got to get better and do a better job of creating some chances. To make those chances we have to start finishing, and that's where I come in. I have to start doing better in that department. We're getting better every game.

On the return on Chris Albright and Landon Donovan from the World Cup:

"It's a huge confidence booster now that we have Albright and Donovan back. We're ecstatic. We wish Glen a speedy recovery, we need him. This is going to be a good team."

LOS ANGELES GALAXY DEFENDER TYRONE MARSHALL

On the game:

"I thought the defense did well. The team defensively did well. Frank, the coach, was stressing that, working on team defense. Tonight, we really wanted to buckle down, especially being at home. We haven't produced a shut out in awhile. It was due. It was over due so to speak. We came out and tried hard, not to give up any goals tonight. We did well tonight, especially on two good forwards like Alejandro (Moreno) and (Brian) Ching. Ching was anxious coming back from the World Cup to show that he is one of the elite forwards in the League. He did a good job and we did a good job too. Nate (Sturgis) and Chris (Albright) did a good job. Overall, it was a good job."

HOUSTON DYNAMO HEAD COACH DOMINIC KINNEAR

On the game:

"Not too bad, we created a few good chances in the first half, especially towards the end. In the second half, it was a bit of a stale mate. Pat (Onstad) made one save in the first half from Wolyniec and the defense held well. The attack was good in the first half. We had a number of chances. In the second half, (the game was) kind of going back and forth, not too many chances. You kind of want three (points) on the road, but one is a positive result. You want the win obviously, so a tie is disappointing when you want the win. Sometimes you have to settle for a tie."

On Brian Ching:

"He was ok. He put mean curve on it and Hartman made a great save. He turns and just misses that one. He was a good addition to the team tonight."

On Houston's next game against Chivas USA:

"It's going to be good. We saw how they played in Columbus, they tied 1-1. They've been playing well. So, we have to watch some videotape and get the guys ready for Wednesday."

HOUSTON DYNAMO FORWARD BRIAN CHING

On returning to play for Houston:

"It felt good. I was excited to get back on the field because it's been a month since I have played a game. I was excited to get out there. I felt considerably good considering I traveled yesterday, but I'm not tired now. I felt ok during the game. I'm happy with the result, although I thought we could have gotten a win tonight."

HOUSTON DYNAMO FORWARD ALEJANDRO MORENO

On the game:

"Obviously, we would of liked to come out of here with three points. We created to enough chances to do that but in the end we managed to get one point on the road, which is always important."
