FSN Prime Ticket and L.A. Sports Council present second annual LA Sports 'Greatest Moment' awards

LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Sports Council and FSN PRIME TICKET have partnered to present the 2006 LA Sports Awards, an annual awards show created by the Sports Council. The January 21, 2007, gala event marks the first year with FSN PRIME TICKET as telecast partner.

Bill Macdonald, FSN WEST and FSN PRIME TICKET reporter, and Petros Papadakis, FSN Pac-10 football analyst, serve as Masters of Ceremonies for the gala, which is held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills. FSN PRIME TICKET live telecast coverage begins at 8 PM on Sunday, January 21.

" 'Greatest Moments in Sports' is a unique fan-driven program. It's a natural extension of our team partnerships and continues the FSN PRIME TICKET commitment to providing sports access and information to regional fans," said Steve Simpson, vice president and general manager, FSN WEST and FSN PRIME TICKET.

The LA Sports Awards annually recognizes the most impactful, memorable and emotional moments in local sports. Los Angeles-area and Orange County-based sports teams and professional organizations provide their top three respective moments for consideration. Winners in each of 18 categories are determined by fan voting online. An additional four honors - Sportsman, Sportswoman, Sports Executive of the Year and Overall Greatest Moment - are chosen by the LA Sports Awards media panel.

Southern California sports fans begin casting their ballots on Monday, December 18 at www.lasports.org. There, three top moments in the following 18 categories - Los Angeles Angels, Los Angeles Avengers, Chivas USA, Los Angeles Clippers, Los Angeles Dodgers, Anaheim Ducks, Los Angeles Galaxy, golf, horse racing, Los Angeles Kings, Los Angeles Lakers, motorsports, Olympic sports, Los Angeles Sparks, tennis, UCLA Bruins, USC Trojans and Division I schools - are listed for consideration and selection.

Online voting continues through January 8, 2007. Winners in all categories will be revealed at the gala event and during the live FSN PRIME TICKET event telecast on January, 21, 2007.
