Flores to appear on Sunday's Republica Deportiva

CARSON, Calif. - Chivas USA forward and 2007 Sueño MLS Winner Jorge Flores will appear this Sunday, Feb. 3 on Univision's 'República Deportiva,' America's most watched Spanish-language television sports program, live from the show's Miami studios.


Flores will discuss this year's Sueño MLS 2008 competition, scheduled to kick off Friday, Feb. 15, as well as the upcoming Chivas USA season. He will also discuss the Copa Chivas youth tournament in Guadalajara, where he recently captained the U.S. U-20 National Team.


In addition, Flores will provide República viewers an exclusive first look at Chivas USA's new adidas home jersey for the 2008 MLS season.


In 2007, Sueño MLS attracted an overwhelming 2,000 young amateurs from across the U.S. and several foreign countries After six weeks of intense competition, Flores, then a 17-year old high-school senior and part time church cleaner, was crowned the winner. The native of Anaheim, Calif., went on to earn a spot and play with Chivas USA's 28-man roster, and was later called up to the U.S. Under-20 National Team.


República Deportiva, America's most watched Spanish-language television sports program, airs every Sunday on Univision at 11:00 a.m. ET and 12:00 noon PT on the West Coast.


Chivas USA opens preseason camp next Monday, Feb. 4 ahead of the 2008 season, its fourth in Major League Soccer. The Red-and-White begin play on March 30 at FC Dallas before celebrating its 2008 Home Opener against Real Salt Lake on Saturday, April 5 at The Home Depot Center.
