First-ever Red Bulls High School Cup to take flight in May 2007

SECAUCUS, NJ - New Jersey's elite soccer talent will converge at Giants Stadium on Sunday, May 13, 2007, as the New York Red Bulls will host the first-annual Red Bulls High School Cup. This showdown will pit the finest 18 players from North Jersey against the best 18 players from South Jersey.


Nominated solely by the media, these 36 outstanding high school graduating seniors will represent their respective regions and battle for the ultimate state bragging rights. After all media nominations are gathered and tabulated, the Red Bulls will announce the individuals who will take part in the New York Red Bulls' All-Star weekend.


The weekend will include a practice session, exclusive meet and greets with Red Bulls players and coaches, and an honorary banquet for participants. The All-Star Weekend will culminate on Sunday, as the North and South New Jersey All-Stars will play immediately following the Red Bulls' MLS regular season match against the Colorado Rapids, which begins at 3 p.m. ET.
