FIRE RESERVES FACE RED BULLS RESERVES SUNDAY


The Chicago Fire Reserves (2-1-0, 6 pts.) return to action against the New York Red Bulls Reserves (1-1-0, 3 pts.) in an MLS Reserve Division match Saturday, May 25 at 4:30 p.m. CT. The Reserves beat the D.C. United Reserves 2-0 in their last game courtesy of a Peter Lowry brace in the nation's capital on 5/09/08.

RESERVES DEFEAT DEPAUL UNIVERSITY 3-0

The Chicago Fire Reserves received goals from forward Andy Herron (16'), forward Tomasz Frankowski (21'), and midfielder Kai Kasiguran (86') to beat the DePaul University Men's team on Sunday at the TOYOTA PARK practice field.


FIRE ACADEMY SWEEP SCHULZ ACADEMY

The Chicago Fire Academy took two wins over Schulz Academy this past Sunday in U.S. Soccer Development Academy league action at Argo High School. The Academy U-16 won 2-1 over Schulz, their first goal courtesy of Felipe Cortez in the 43rd minute, assisted by Bryan Ciesiulka. Marco Gutierrez scored in the 58th minute on a second assist from Ciesiulka. Schultz pulled one back in the 75th minute on a penalty kick past U-16 goalkeeper Nick Huftalin. The Fire Academy U-18 team took a convincing 3-0 victory, with a first goal by Brad Horton from Eric Marofske in the 3rd minute. Mark Roos bullied his way in on goal and finished a long throw in by Horton in the 29th. Roos flicked in a Horton throw-in in the 70th minute to round out the score line. Kit Carson and Steve Purdy split duties in goal.

FIRE PREMIER START 2008 CAMPAIGN WITH 1-0 WIN OVER INDIANA INVADERS

The Chicago Fire Premier PDL team opened their 2008 season with a 1-0 win over the Indiana Invaders last Thursday. The Fire PDL took the lead in the 28th minute, as forward Brandon Barklage tallied his first goal of the season. The match served as the first of four Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup play-in games. The top two PDL teams, after four league games, from each of the four Premier Development League conferences will qualify for the tournament this summer. The Chicago Fire PDL return to action Tuesday, May 20, when they host the Ft. Wayne Fever at the TOYOTA PARK practice field at 6:00 p.m. CT.
