U.S. men's national team head coach Bob Bradley named Chad Barrett, Chris Rolfe, and John Thorrington to his 18-player squad that will face Barbados in the second leg of CONCACAF's second round of 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifying. Kickoff at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados, is slated for 2 p.m. CT, and the match will be broadcast live on ESPN Classic and Galavision.
Barrett has yet to make an appearance with the senior team. He has extensive experience at the U-18 and U-20 youth levels and is currently in the U.S. Under-23 Men's National Team pool. Rolfe last appeared for the senior team on 2/19/06 vs. Guatemala. He made his first start and recorded his first assist in that game. Thorrington earned one "cap" for the full U.S. on 6/07/01 in a 0-0 draw vs. Ecuador at Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio.
The Fire (6-5-1, 19 pts.) return to MLS play this Saturday, June 28 vs. San Jose. Kickoff for that match is set for 7:30 p.m. at TOYOTA PARK (My50 Chicago).
