Fire thanks fans for special 2007 season

Chicago Fire Soccer would like to thank all Fire fans for their dedication and support of the club throughout the 2007 campaign at TOYOTA PARK. The passion and devotion displayed by the Fire faithful motivated the team to perform at the highest level each and every game.


Thanks to your overwhelming support, the Fire set a new club-record with seven sell-outs on the season, highlighted by a crowd of 21,374 on Oct. 21 in the regular season finale versus Los Angeles. The 2007 Fire squad played in front of their first home sell-out crowd on June 9 as the "Men in Red" took on Chivas USA (20,407). Fire fans packed TOYOTA PARK for six more home games, including matches against the Houston Dynamo on July 12 (20,034), Columbus Crew on Aug. 4 (20,358), New York Red Bulls on Sept. 15 (20,586), D.C. United on Sept. 23 (20,079), New England Revolution on Oct. (20,014), as well as the aforementioned game against the Los Angeles Galaxy on Oct. 21.


With less than four days notice following the regular season finale, a crowd of 17,834 Fire supporters attended the 1-0 win over D.C. United in game one of the Eastern Conference Semifinal Series - the largest home playoff game crowd since 1998. Overall, the 2007 regular season home average attendance was 16,490 at TOYOTA PARK, a fourth best attendance in club history.


Chicago Fire Soccer looks forward to a historic 10th anniversary celebratory season in 2008 and the continued support of Fire enthusiasts heading into the team's third season at TOYOTA PARK.
