Fire to recognize Naperville on Western Suburbs Night

BRIDGEVIEW, IL - In an effort to help the Naperville Area Humane Society (NAHS), FireWorks for Kids, the charitable arm of the Chicago Fire, and 95.9 FM "The River" are partnering in a ticket sales promotion on Western Suburbs Night, June 3 (6:00 p.m., Comcast SportsNet) at TOYOTA PARK, as the Fire take on Eastern Conference foe, the Columbus Crew. A portion of the ticket sales from the game will be donated to assist the building of new facilities for the not-for-profit animal shelter, education and adoption agency.

For each Premier Seat ticket sold, Chicago Fire Soccer will donate $5 to the Naperville Area Humane Society. Additionally, 10-cents on every dollar of all ticket sales from the "The River" listening area - DuPage, Kane, Kendall, and Will counties - will also be donated. NAHS representatives will be present during the event - as well as two shelter dogs - to provide information on animal adoption options.

"The Chicago Fire and the FireWorks for Kids Foundation have been so supportive of us (the Naperville Area Humane Society) and the entire organization is so willing to give back to the community that it is inspiring, especially for someone in my position" said Linda Linford, Executive Director of the Naperville Area Humane Society.

The promotion will be just one aspect of the Western Suburbs Night and tribute to Naperville, Ill. as the Fire celebrate their two seasons in the Chicagoland suburb and honor those individuals who made the team's time in then-Cardinal Stadium a success. The night will include a special pre-game FireFest featuring two local bands, Firstreet from Naperville and Painkiller Hotel from Aurora, with Fire radio partner 95.9 FM "The River" broadcasting live from TOYOTA PARK. Also, a half-time recognition will highlight several of the many individuals who were instrumental in bringing the Fire to Cardinal Stadium and the Naperville community.

About the Naperville Area Humane Society

Naperville Area Humane Society is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1979 to develop and implement animal welfare programs and services within Naperville and the surrounding area. Our goal is to protect animals and prevent animal suffering while providing shelter and adoption programs for homeless animals. About FireWorks for Kids

Now in its tenth year, the FireWorks for Kids Foundation is a non-profit organization that helps the Chicago Fire contribute to the community through grants and contributions. The FireWorks for Kids Foundation was created out of the desire of Fire owner/operator Philip Anschutz and the team's dedication to community service. With great pride, the foundation reached its one-million-dollar grant donation benchmark in 2006. This outstanding achievement gives the FireWorks for Kids Foundation even more reason to set its sights on grander projects for the future.
