U.S. Soccer has announced the possible pairings for the third round of the 2008 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, and the Chicago Fire have been awarded hosting rights for their match on Tuesday, July 1. The game will be played at TOYOTA PARK in Bridgeview, Ill.
Chicago's opponent for the match will be determined on June 24, when the Cleveland City Stars (USL2) play at the Minnesota Thunder (USL1). The two clubs play in the United Soccer League with USL1 being the league's first division and USL2 its second division. These leagues are considered the second and third tier of professional soccer in the United States respectively.
