Fire to host First Annual Corporate Cup Sept. 22

BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. - Chicago Fire Soccer today announced plans to host the first-ever Corporate Cup, which will be held at the Club's new, world-class home of TOYOTA PARK on Friday, Sept. 22 beginning at 1:30 p.m. CT. The 2006 Corporate Cup will consist of 16 teams and include several of the Chicago Fire's top corporate sponsors, such as McDonald's, Verizon Wireless, Bridgeview Bank and Toyota. Each team will square off in a minimum of three, five-a-side, 20-minute matches in true tournament fashion.

"We are very pleased to kick off the annual Corporate Cup at TOYOTA PARK, and provide several of our Corporate Partners with a truly unique experience," said Chicago Fire President/CEO John Guppy. "Soccer is a rapidly growing recreation activity for many company employees and I know this will be a very fun event for everyone participating."

Each co-ed squad will field a maximum roster of 10 players. Winners of the tournament will be presented with a ceremonial trophy celebration, as well as an engraved memorial plaque that will be forever displayed within the confines of TOYOTA PARK. The top team will also receive a complimentary Event Stage suite with food and beverage included (approximate value of $1,800) for a possible 2006 Chicago Fire Playoff game, as well as free admission to the 2007 Chicago Fire Corporate Cup.

The cost of the tournament includes a generous package featuring 75 Premier Seat tickets, which can be used by the participating company and/or donated to the Chicago Fire's Kicks for Kids Program. Teams will also be given a lunch, T-shirts and special recognition the following day during the Chicago Fire - Los Angeles Galaxy match-up on Saturday, Sept. 23 (7:30 p.m. CT).
