FIFA lifts suspension on FA of Albania

FIFA have lifted the suspension on the Football Association of Albania after the country's government signed new statutes on the administration of the game.

FIFA imposed the ban on March 14 of this year because of what they described as "heavy political interference" from the government in the running of the national team.

Since then, FIFA and UEFA have held talks with the Albanian FA (FSHF) and the government and have approved new statutes drawn up by the FA. Albania's Sports Minister, Ylli Pango, has withdrawn from legal proceedings he began over the dispute.

FIFA, UEFA, the FSHF and the Ministry of Sports have also set up a four-party working group to avoid future problems.
