FC Dallas training schedule: July 17-23

FRISCO, Texas - FC Dallas overcame field-level temperatures that reached 120 degrees to come-from-behind and earn a 3-2 victory over the Chicago Fire in on Saturday afternoon in Chicago's new stadium, Toyota Park. The FC Dallas Reserves also fought back to earn a point against the Fire Reserves, extending their unbeaten streak to six consecutive games. On Monday, FCD begins preparing for two games this week - hosting Mexican First Division club Tigres on Wednesday and then traveling to face Real Salt Lake next Saturday.

  • FCD will learn on Monday if any player was selected as an MLS All-Star. DC United's head coach, who will coach the All-Stars, will announce the complete roster on Monday, July 17 on a teleconference call at 12:00 p.m. CT on MLSnet.com. The MLS All-Stars will take on English Premier League champions Chelsea FC in the 2006 Sierra Mist MLS All-Star Game on Saturday, Aug. 5 at TOYOTA PARK in Bridgeview, Ill (live on ESPN at 5:30 p.m. CT).

  • For the second time this year, FCD will face a Mexican First Division club when they host Tigres on Wednesday, July 19 at Pizza Hut Park in the first leg of the Rio Grande Plate. FCD defeated Atlas 4-1 in a pre-season warm-up game on March 23.

  • The next goal FCD scores in MLS competition will be the team's 500th regular season goal. In ten plus seasons, FCD has scored 290 goals at home (164 games) and 209 goals on the road (160 games). FCD's next chance to scored # 500 is on Saturday at Real Salt Lake. RSL features former Dallas forward Jason Kreis, who scored 91 goals while with Dallas. D.C. United (563 goals) and the Los Angeles Galaxy (527 goals) are the only other MLS teams to have scored 500 regular season goals.

  • Dallas has an all-time regular season record of 142-143-39.

  • Thirteen different FCD players have scored a goal this season, which is a League-high. Columbus and DC have received goals from 12 different players.

  • FCD is in a stretch of playing 6 games in 19 days, in three different competitions:

  • July 16 - at Chicago (MLS regular season) - WON 3-2

    July 19 - vs Tigres (Rio Grande Plate)

    July 22 - at Real Salt Lake (MLS regular season)

  • FC Dallas remains atop the Western Conference standings with a 10-5-3 record (33 points). The Hoops have been in first place for all but four days this season. After losing to Houston on May 6, which temporarily dropped the team one point behind Houston, the team defeated the Los Angeles Galaxy on May 10 to reclaim first place and has remained there ever since.
