FRISCO, Texas - FC Dallas today announced that it has re-signed defender Bobby Rhine. The 30-year old right back has played in Dallas for each of his eight seasons in MLS and is now the team's longest tenured player. Per league and team policy, details of the contract were not released.

Rhine was selected by Dallas in the first round (sixth overall) of the 1999 MLS College Draft and has been with the club for the past eight seasons. Playing primarily as a forward for the first six years of his career before being converted into a right back, Rhine has scored 23 goals and added 33 assists during his time in Dallas and ranks in the top 10 in FCD history in every offensive statistical category.

In 2006, appeared in and started 30 games, playing a career-high 2,593 minutes. On August 20, Rhine played his 177th game in a Dallas uniform, surpassing Oscar Pareja for second place all-time in franchise history for games played. He now stands at 186 career games played for Dallas, 61 games behind the club's all-time leader Jason Kreis.

Rhine, a St. Louis native and University of Connecticut graduate, had his best season statistically in 2002 when he finished second on the club with seven goals while adding six assists. On June 8 of that year, Rhine became the last Dallas player to score a hat trick in an MLS game when he scored three times in a 4-1 win over Colorado.
