FC Dallas midfielder Nunez out with right ankle sprain

FRISCO, Texas - FC Dallas announced today that midfielder Ramon Nunez will miss the next 2-3 weeks with a sprained right ankle. The 20-year old midfielder suffered the injury in the first half of FCD's 2-1 loss to Columbus at Pizza Hut Park on Saturday, June 3, but continued to play on despite the injury before being removed midway through the second half.


Nunez has appeared in all 11 of the Hoops' game so far this season, making eight starts including each of the last seven games. The third-year midfielder has scored two goals and added two assists so far this season.


Nunez is expected to miss his team's match against Chivas USA on Sunday, June 11 at Pizza Hut Park. FCD has a bye week the following week and will be back in action on Saturday June 24 against the Colorado Rapids at Pizza Hut Park. Nunez is expected to be back in contention for a spot in the squad by that point. FCD currently sits atop the Western Conference standings with a 6-2-3 record for 21 points, leaving it four points ahead of second place Houston.
