REMEMBERING A FRIEND
FC Dallas today shipped over 350 soccer balls to Iraq on behalf of former FC Dallas employee and friend, Peter Burks. The 26-year old Burks was a 2nd Lieutenant in the Army when he was killed by a roadside bomb while on duty in Baghdad, Iraq last November. Two weeks before his death, he had emailed our front office asking if we could help him with a campaign to provide soccer balls to children in Iraq.

is email began: "One of the things that we do here in Baghdad to help out the little kids and locals is, we hand out soccer balls. It really helps us too because when they see their kids treated nicely, they're more eager to help us and to point out the bad guys." Click here to read the rest of the email.
