FC Dallas 2, Chivas USA 1 -- quote sheet

FC DALLAS 2, CHIVAS USA 1

FC DALLAS HEAD COACH COLIN CLARKE

On the win:
"It was a tough game, the conditions were tough for both teams. I don't know what the temperature was, but it was very hot. Both teams had some good stuff at times and both probably gave it up too much at times and it was hard to win the ball back. But we're very happy with the result. I thought that we deserved it and it's another good win."

On the play of Roberto Mina after entering the game:
"Fresh legs, he came on strong and active and took his goal very, very well."

On the Chivas goal:
"It's disappointing. It was a long ball that was just knocked down and the one person it falls to is the one that you don't want it to fall to. He's (Ante Razov) as hot as Carlos is at the minute and he did what all good finishers do and put it in the back of the net."

FC DALLAS DEFENDER DREW MOOR

On the win:
"We came out with the goal of getting three points, and obviously it was tough conditions for both teams and we knew they were coming off a tough match on Thursday before traveling here so we wanted to go at them early and Carlos was able to give us the early goal and we went from there."

On gaining some positive momentum heading into the bye week:
"It's nice. We did the same thing a couple of weeks ago in New York, but we don't want to relax too much. We have a tough part of the schedule coming up after the bye, with a lot of games and we're going to need to use the entire squad, so everyone is going to need to be ready and on their toes."

FC DALLAS FORWARD CARLOS RUIZ

On his goal:
"It was a great ball from Greg Vanney and when I saw the defense behind me, I knew that it was man-to-man and I thought that I could beat my man. Fortunately I kept the ball with me and I just shot it. It was a good goal and it was good for us because at that point we were tied and it gave us the lead."

On rebounding from the loss to Columbus:
"I think that we are a good team and we need to play good, here and away; it doesn't matter the weather. We need to play like a big team every time and we played like a big team today which is good because we got the win. We talked a lot about the mistakes we made against the Crew and today we fixed a lot of those mistakes and played well."

On tying the MLS record for consecutive games with a goal:
"I feel happy, but I just want to win the championship with my team. We'll see if I can break another record, but really all I want is to again be the champion of Major League Soccer."

CHIVAS USA HEAD COACH BOB BRADLEY

On pulling a goal back to make it 2-1:
"I thought it was fun all night. I thought that when it was 1-0 we had really good chances to tie the game. I thought we were unlucky to give up a second goal, but we weren't done so we were able to quickly make it 2-1 and try to still see if we could equalize. But, on the whole, I thought the effort was quite good."

On the positives he takes away from the loss:
"I think we came into their home stadium and I thought we still played a solid game. We made a mistake in the first half and they punished us, but we responded quite well and created some good very chances. We just couldn't get it to go our way.

On the play of Ante Razov:
"Ante had some good chances. I know he probably wishes he had put one of them away when it was 1-0 but, that's the way the game works some nights. He still kept us in it and, like I said, he gave us a chance to still push 'til the end."

CHIVAS USA FORWARD ANTE RAZOV

On the match:
"It was a tough game. We knew they were going to be tough to play against but we played well. We, for the most part, took care of them, but we gave Carlos one chance and he capitalized on it. The other one we were pushing for the goal. We had some chances to get one. They get another one and we get one right back. But these conditions are tough and they made one more play than we did. But we know we're a good team, and I think they'll walk away knowing we're a pretty good team. So, we just have to get back to work and be ready for next week."

On his goal:
"We never want to quit and we didn't think the game was out of hand at any point. We thought we gave them as much as they gave us. It was a good ball played up the field by (Carlos) Llamosa to Matt (Taylor), and I was trailing and he was able to lay it off and I was able to hit it one time and fortunately it went in.

On his other chances in the second half:
"Hitting the post is just unlucky, I suppose. An inch right, it goes in. But, that's soccer. The other one where the goalie came out I just missed it. Jesse (Marsch) made a good play cutting it back, and I just need to do a little bit better on that."

CHIVAS USA FORWARD JUAN FRANCISCO PALENCIA

On the match:
"It was a tough game. Both teams played well and they are a good team. I thought the combination between mistakes that we made and them taking advantage of the mistakes that we made at the back, that's the difference in the game. But, the whole game was balanced for both teams, unfortunately, we could only score one goal and missed another one. But I think Chivas USA is becoming a really good team in this league and I am looking forward to the future."

On his team's improvement from a year ago:
"We are a much better team than last year and you can see that, even with the loss. I think we can be happy about the effort and the plays that we made, and I hope that the next game we will get back to the winning ways."
