FC Dallas 2, Chivas USA 0 -- quote sheet

FC DALLAS 2, CHIVAS USA 0

FC DALLAS HEAD COACH STEVE MORROW

On the game:
"I thought it was a little bit of a messy game and, to be honest, I don't think we played our best. But we got a good 2-0 victory at home and it was an important game to win. (Chivas USA) is a conference rival, so it was a good, competitive game. It was important for us to get three points to stay clear at the top and keep some distance between us and Chivas."

On Ramon Nunez:
"Ramon played very well and scored a great goal. I've been telling him for a few weeks that he needed to keep his head up, keep working hard and wait for his chance to get back in the lineup again. It's been a difficult few weeks for him, trying to get his place back in the team again, and he got that tonight and took a chance for a great goal. I thought he did a lot of other good things in the game, as well."

On the clean sheet:
"All credit to Dario tonight, he came up big. Once or twice in the first half, they caught us on the counterattack when we were pushing forward, but Dario came up with a couple of big saves. It was another clean sheet for us, which is very positive."

FC DALLAS MIDFIELDER RAMON NUNEZ

On his opportunity and goal:
"I haven't been happy, but I was professional about it. I had to come in and do a great job for my team. I'm not up to a 90-(minute) level game because I haven't played in a while, but I was thankful to get in there and score a goal to help my team out. I'm working hard to get back in the team in a fair manner. It was unfortunate for Marcelo to go down for me to come in, but I was able to step in there and I think I did a pretty good job for the team.

On his goal:
"I think we were getting in behind them quite a bit. I found an opening and Arturo (Alvarez) found me with a great ball and I turned and had a shot. Luckily, it went in."

CHIVAS USA HEAD COACH PREKI

On the game:
"I'm disappointed with the result. Obviously, the first goal changed everything. I thought there was a foul in the corner on the other side of the field that the referee decided not to call. They were then able to go on the other side and score a goal. I thought that was the difference in the game. We had some chances in the first half. If we go one goal up, it's a different game. It's hard when you give up the first goal, you're on the road and are depleted. But that's how the game goes sometimes."

On Maykel Galindo:
"I thought he was busy but our play in the final third wasn't great. There was so much space out there and we just couldn't find the right pace on a pass or a good cross. When you can't do that, you aren't going to score a lot of goals."

CHIVAS USA DEFENDER ORLANDO PEREZ

On the game:
"Whenever you go on the road, we always try to leave with at least one point. I thought we did pretty well at least for most of the game. Defensively, the first goal of the game came on a shot that we couldn't do anything about. The second goal happened because of a mistake. We have to put it behind us. But I thought we played pretty well. It was kind of hot out there, but I thought we managed the game pretty well."
