FC DALLAS 2, CHICAGO FIRE 1

CHICAGO FIRE HEAD COACH DAVE SARACHAN

On the game:
"It's never a good feeling to lose at home. It wasn't for a lack of effort. In the start of the half we were pretty much in full control. They were, in my opinion, gifted a penalty. I don't feel that Dallas ever really threatened, but here we are looking at a 2-1 game. We were looking to get things stirred up, but it never happened."

On critical mistakes and positives:
"Dallas did a good job getting behind the ball, which made it a bit more difficult. We need to have a bit more urgency."

On how the penalty kick call affected the rest of the game:
"It put everyone in a bit of a shock mode. We were in control up until that point and it was a bit of a stunner."

CHICAGO FIRE FORWARD CALEN CARR

On his goal attempts:
"We probably scored that (kick) a hundred times in practices and reserves games. That's just one that I know that I can get."

On his defending:
"I take pride in my defense. I think we can work on moving forward out of the back. We have the pieces, it's just a matter of doing all the little things right and getting back to the basics."

On his first start:
"I wanted to come in aggressive. I wanted to use my athleticism and find seams in the back lines to run at some guys."

On his goal:
"It's always nice to score, but I look at that one I scored and I think, 'Hey, can I do more'. Obviously we came out on the bitter side of this. But we'll work on it this week and head to New York (to hope for) three points this week."

CHICAGO FIRE GOALKEEPER MATT PICKENS

On the defense:
"We need to be harder on the offensive guys, getting in on them hard early. We didn't really allow much tonight. It's just one of those games where they got two chances."

FC DALLAS HEAD COACH STEVE MORROW

On overcoming early pressure and scoring first:
"I think you expect that away from home on the road, especially against a team who just had two defeats and were looking to start the game well. I thought we soaked up the early pressure well and defended it well. We had a few little problems defensively that we talked about at halftime; I thought we were a little stretched and left too many gaps in midfield, which we tried to correct at halftime a little bit. We got the goal I thought we deserved and we possessed the ball well at times considering we were away from home. I think there is still more to come from this team."

FC DALLAS FORWARD KENNY COOPER

On his scoring streak against Chicago:
"I don't know. I was fortunate to get a couple goals now, so it was a big win for us coming off those two home losses. We've responded really well and had two big wins on the road. Hopefully we can go into the next home game and continue doing what we did here on the road."
