FC Dallas 1, Dynamo 0 -- quote sheet

FC DALLAS 1, HOUSTON DYNAMO 0

FC DALLAS HEAD COACH COLIN CLARKE

On the game:
"We're a man up. Everyone expects you to win but it's never that easy. We still have to fight, do the right things; Keep the ball moving, keep it from side to side and try to spread them as much as possible. You also have to be careful that you don't get caught going the other way. I thought we had a good balance tonight."

On the win:
"We've played three games in the past seven days, two of them on the road. A lot of credit goes to the boys tonight. There were very hard again tonight and came out with a great result."

FC DALLAS MIDFIELDER ARTURO ALVAREZ

On scoring for the first time since April 1:
"It's good for me personally and it gives me a lot more confidence. I had kind of forgotten how it feels (to score a goal), going through tough times but it just feels good to score a goal and help the team get three points."

On running to assistant coach Oscar Pareja during his celebration:
"He told me (before the game) that he thought I was going to score today. As a coach I respect Oscar and I've been through some tough times this year, some ups and downs and I go to Oscar a lot and talk to him because I'm pretty sure that he's been in similar situations and he helps me out. It was really just a token of appreciation."

FC DALLAS DEFENDER JUSTIN MOORE

On his MLS debut:
"Tonight I came in pretty confident. A bunch of the guys talked to me before the game, Ronnie [O'Brien], [Greg] Vanney and others. It also helped having them get a red card, giving me more time on the ball and with Ronnie always coming to the ball it gave me an easy outlet. I was able to soak it all up and really enjoyed it."

On the win against Houston:
"It's awesome. The only other game I played against Houston was a reserve game so this was a bit different. With the first team the rivalry seems to be getting better with each game and to come out with the win is awesome."

HOUSTON DYNAMO HEAD COACH DOMINIC KINNEAR

On the game:
"The top four make the playoffs. Going into tonight we still want to win the West. It's going to be a very difficult to reach us. Stranger things have happened but we're realistic.

"Overall, I think the team played great. We just had one little lapse there, they broke through and it was the only time we kind of had gaps. I thought the way we got back and held our lines was good. That decision by us, we have the ball and get it taken away and they score, so it's difficult."

HOUSTON DYNAMO GOALKEEPER PAT ONSTAD

On the game:
"I thought the guys battled hard. We shot ourselves in the foot with the red card and having to play with 10 men. It's hard enough on the road as it is and with 10 men it makes it doubly tough. I thought the disappointing part of the game was that we played fairly well against them. Yes, they had opportunities, with the one that hit the post. And with five minutes to go we play a ball short that gets cut off and we lose the game. I think that's the disappointing part, I think we might have had in our control to keep it 0-0 and we let it slip away. All the credit to them, they didn't give up, kept going and got the winner."

HOUSTON DYNAMO MIDFIELDER BRAD DAVIS

On the game:
"We played a lazy free kick and it ended up with a result their way. We need to be smarter with five minutes to go. When they play balls in their end they're not dangerous. Down to 10 men with five minutes to go and we can at least get a point and you just need to be smarter. The last four weeks or so we've been putting ourselves in the hole and it's our own fault and we have to do something to fix it."
