FC Dallas 0, Dynamo 0 -- quote sheet

FC DALLAS 0, HOUSTON DYNAMO 0

FC DALLAS HEAD COACH STEVE MORROW

On the game:
"I'm pleased with the team effort today, and the work and the commitment. I thought over the 90 minutes we were probably the better team; (we) looked a little more threatening throughout the game. I thought we were the team that looked more likely to score a goal. It was a tight game, lot of commitment, two good teams going at it. I thought it was very, very competitive throughout. I'm pleased with the clean sheet but the boys are a little disappointed that we didn't get the three points."

On the defense:
"Credit to the back four today. I want to give them a lot of credit because it was a new-look back four for us, and those guys haven't played together, and I thought they did a fantastic job throughout the game -- coped very well with (Brian) Ching and (Joseph) Ngwenya, and (Brian) Mullan and (Dwayne) De Rosario."

FC DALLAS DEFENDER AARON PITCHKOLAN

On the game:
"It was two teams that really like to battle. It's a pretty big rivalry, and we don't like each other that much. We seem to play each other quite a bit so I think that adds to it. It's tough when both teams play real solid defense and keep good shape. Its hard to break people down like that. I think they found the same thing against us that we found against them. Its hard to get behind and tough to create chances."

HOUSTON DYNAMO HEAD COACH DOMINIC KINNEAR

On the game:
"Dallas is a tough place to play. It's a positive result. Coming here for a win, we created some chances. The better part of the attacking game was snuffed out by the defenses. It's a positive point on the road, that's what I told the guys here. It's a point where we pulled away from the teams that are underneath us, and now they have to go out and try to get positive results. It's a tough place to play."

On the weather and their attacking approach:
"We tried to go forward. I think the energy was not high for a lot of the players today. I think the field was heavy. The heat today really sapped it out of them. Now we're 14 games into the season and now we need to try and get as much rest as we can because these are the summer days and it really just zaps you quick and it's hard to recover. Our approach was trying to win and we didn't but we still got a point out of this and another shutout, and unbeaten in June, and we've only given up three goals in six games, so our team defending is definitely a positive sign."

HOUSTON DYNAMO DEFENDER CRAIG WAIBEL

On the game:
"I think it's a great result. They're in first place and we're in second and we're at their home field. I'd like to think they're disappointed with that result because it's their job to win at home. To get a shutout on the road is fantastic for this team and also to stay within three points with two games in hand is great. This is obviously two points short of what we wanted but a great result for the club and for the guys in the locker room."

On the weather:
"The weather was definitely a factor. It was a lot hotter than it looked and the field was a factor too. The field was pretty poor, very sandy, and by the end of the match very soft. It was like playing on the beach."
