The Houston Dynamo Under-17s ended competition in the MLS Youth Cup Monday night with a 5-1 over the host Colorado Rapids entry, though the result was not enough to allow the Youth In Orange to advance past group play in the tournament.
Dynamo had two goals from Mario Perez, along with one each from Marcos Escobar, Samir Pena and Carlos Recions to end the first round with a 1-0-2 record. Dynamo was unable to advance in the Cup based on other results and goal differential, despite finishing the tournament appearance unbeaten. The side will have play a friendly Tuesday night against the New York Red Bulls.
