Dynamo sign Argentine forward Caraccio

Franco Caraccio is expected to join the team for CONCACAF Champion's League.

The Houston Dynamo introduced Argentine forward Franco Caraccio, the team's new signing, at a press conference Wednesday afternoon.

Caraccio, 21, comes to the Dynamo from Arsenal de Sarandí, of the Argentine First Division. The signing is contingent upon the completion of entry physical exams and immigration papers. Per team and league policy, the terms of his contract will not be disclosed.

Dynamo head coach Dominic Kinnear said he was impressed with Caraccio's skill and work rate when scouting.

"I liked his decision-making," Kinnear said. "His work rate was excellent, which works well with this team, and we obviously have a need at forward, and he fits that need."

Caraccio arrived in Houston Wednesday morning and met players and staff before being introduced.

"I will make sure to give my best to meet or exceed expectations," Caraccio said through a translator. "I want to contribute to the team as best as I can and make a contribution to help Houston win another title.

Caraccio, who will wear the No. 10 jersey, said he heard good things about the league and the Dynamo from friends Javier Morales and Fabian Espindola, who joined Real Salt Lake last season.

Kinnear said he hopes to have Caraccio available for next week's Texas Pro Soccer Festival in Cibolo, Texas in the San Antonio area and the CONCACAF Champions' Cup quarterfinal against CSD Municipal, which begins March 12 and concludes in Houston March 19.
