Dynamo reserves suffer 4-0 defeat

The Houston Dynamo Reserves could not find the offensive touch this Friday against the Los Angeles Galaxy reserve squad, falling 4-0 at the Waipio Peninsula Sports Complex.

The game was dominated by the Galaxy from the start. Carlos Ruiz would open the scoreboard for them at the 18th minute on a difficult play down the right side of the field. Even though he had a difficult angle to shoot from, Ruiz was still able to get the ball past Dynamo goalkeeper Corbin Waller.

LA would score their second goal of the day at the 26th minute. Thanks to a well-placed corner kick from the right, Alan Gordon put in a solid header past Waller, who could do nothing to stop the ball.

The only good chance of the game for the Men in Orange came at the 27th minute. James Georgeff was able to beat Abel Xavier on his defensive effort, which left him with just the Galaxy goalkeeper to beat. His shot, aimed for the left post, missed the mark by just inches.

Once the second half got underway, the Galaxy was able to seal the deal with goals from Israel Sesay (40th minute) and Mike Randolph (48th minute).

The Dynamo will face Gamba Osaka today at Aloha Stadium for the Pan Pacific Championship. The game is scheduled to kick off at 8:30 p.m. local time (12:30 a.m. Sunday in Houston).
