Dynamo organizes inaugural edition of Cope Cricket

The Houston Dynamo is proud to announce the first edition of Copa Cricket, presented by Cricket Wireless.

This adult, 7v7 soccer tournament will take place on Saturday, September 29th at Cullen Park, located at 19008 Saums Rd. Thirty-two teams will compete in this World Cup-style tournament for a cash prize and a chance to be recognized at the October 7th match vs. the LA Galaxy. The entry fee for this tournament is $100 per team, with a maximum of 10 players per team. Each participant will receive a gift bag and tournament T-shirt.

"Cricket, Houston's only unlimited provider, is aware of how important soccer is for many of our customers," says Alan Leser, area general manager for Cricket Communications. "It is a great privilege for us to participate in such a wonderful competitive event to show support for both Houston sports and residents. We are delighted to be working with the Dynamo."

Registration for the tournament will begin at 8 AM on the day of the event, with matches beginning at 9 AM. Each team is guaranteed three games in this day-long tournament with the top two teams from each group advancing to a single-elimination bracket.

In the event of a tie during any of the single elimination rounds the teams will go straight to penalty kicks to determine the winner of that match. The winners of the final match will receive a phone and service for one year courtesy of Cricket Wireless along with the aforementioned recognition on October 7th at Robertson Stadium against the L.A. Galaxy. Team spaces are limited, so sign up while you can! To register or to obtain information about the tournament, visit www.houstondynamo.com, or contact Averick Parker, Dynamo Coordinator of Client Services, at 713-276-7517.
