Players from the Houston Dynamo Academy hosted the M-I SWACO Dynamo Soccer Skills Clinic Saturday, April 5, at Boone Elementary School in the Alief Independent School District.

As part of the Alief Community Festival, hosted by Grace Presbyterian Church and Project 180, that included more than 1,000 volunteers working to improve the facilities at Boone Elementary, the Dynamo participated in the Sports Zone.

"The championship Houston Dynamo soccer team offered to assist us with funding, equipment, T-shirts and the M-I SWACO Dynamo Soccer Skills Clinic," said Grace Presbyterian associate pastor Bryan Wilson. "We're proud to be associated with such a wonderful and giving organization."

Dynamo president/general manager Oliver Luck and director of youth development James Clarkson were on hand Saturday and worked with 15 players from the Dynamo Academy U-18 team to teach three sessions of soccer clinics for local students.

"It was a great chance for our Academy players to inspire local kids," Clarkson said. "They had a great time, did a great job and even signed plenty of autographs."

The Dynamo and M-I SWACO expect they will continue to team up for future endeavors to benefit local communities.

"At M-I SWACO, we value our stakeholders, especially the communities in which we live and work around the world," MI-SWACO spokesperson Julia Bitterly said. "Sponsoring a youth program benefitting the Alief community, nearby our corporate headquarters in West Houston, was an outstanding opportunity in partnership with the Dynamo. We at M-I SWACO look forward to future projects with the Dynamo that promote health, teamwork and other values important for future generations. Houston is lucky to have the Dynamo in our city."
