Entering a second season in the state of Texas, Houston Dynamo coach Dominic Kinnear likes the opportunities that stem from his team's short road trip from Houston to College Station for the second CONCACAF quarterfinal match against FC Puntarenas.
"We haven't seen too much of Texas," says Kinnear. "So if we can spread the Dynamo word, more power to us."
The Dynamo plays Puntarenas Thursday at 8 p.m. CT at the Aggie Soccer Complex, with the unavailability of the team's usual home, the University of Houston's Robertson Stadium.
"Every person I've spoken to says the field is excellent," says Kinnear. "I think the guys will be excited when we step on the field."
Needing a two-goal win to advance to the CONCACAF semifinals, Kinnear added, "It is going to be difficult, but these guys have been up to difficult challenges in the past."
