Dynamo English Radio Broadcast Slate Announced

The partnership that has swept Houston's sports landscape continues to grow. The Houston Dynamo and 790 The Sports Animal (KBME/Clear Channel) announce that the station will air an unprecedented slate of the team's games during the 2008 season.

790 The Sports Animal will begin the Dynamo broadcast schedule with the February 20 and 23 Pan Pacific Championship in Honolulu. The station has also committed to air the upcoming Dynamo CONCACAF series with CSD Municipal of Guatemala on March 12 and 19, leading to the start of Major League Soccer play on March 29 when the two-time defending MLS Cup Champions open the 2008 campaign at New England.

The station has cleared all league games through August, and will slot late-season games as fall 2008 approaches. The Clear Channel station has already multiplied its commitment from the 2007 season when 790 The Sports Animal aired Dynamo games in SuperLiga, CONCACAF and the U.S. Open Cup. The radio package contributes to a total platform that gives the Dynamo more combined broadcast exposure than any other MLS team.

"We are pleased to extend our partnership with 790 The Sports Animal," said Dynamo COO Chris Canetti. "I would like to thank Clear Channel management for its commitment to the Dynamo organization and the sport of soccer. We believe that this deal will be mutually beneficial to the growth of both of our businesses, but more importantly, it provides Dynamo fans another excellent opportunity to connect with the team."

The Dynamo-790 The Sports Animal schedule kicks off Wednesday night, February 20, when the Dynamo opens Pan Pacific play against Sydney FC. The Infinity Insurance Pregame Show begins at 12:06am CT, live from Aloha Stadium. Dynamo Director of Public Relations Steve Mark returns for his second season as the Voice of the Dynamo, with Director of Development James Clarkson in the booth during selected games for analysis.

"We are extremely delighted to continue a relationship that began when we were the only station in town that wrapped arms around soccer," said Tim Collins, program director of 790 The Sports Animal. "We look forward to strengthening that relationship with the Dynamo."

790 The Sports Animal has a year-round commitment to the Dynamo and Houston's soccer community with the weekly Dynamo Power Hours with Glenn Davis, Mondays 7-9:00pm. The show is known nationwide for the best in soccer talk, interviews and inside information.

The Dynamo Spanish radio lineup will be announced shortly.

Following Pan Pacific and CONCACAF play, the Dynamo MLS home opener is set for Sunday, April 6 (2:00pm CT) against Western Conference rival FC Dallas.
