Dynamo, Channel 55 announce additions

Former MLS defender Steve Jolley will join select broadcasts as a color analyst for KTBU Channel 55.

The Houston Dynamo and KTBU Channel 55 have announced that former MLS defender Steve Jolley will join select broadcasts as color analyst, beginning with this Saturday night's game against the Los Angeles Galaxy.

The Dynamo also announced that Janette Fernandez will provide sideline commentary on broadcasts this season. Veteran Charlie Pallilo will continue to handle play-by-play duties, as he has since the team's inception, with Glenn Davis providing color commentary, also on select games.

Jolley appeared in 227 MLS contests as a defender in a 10-year career that saw him play for three different franchises - Los Angeles, Dallas and New York twice. He was named MLS Humanitarian of the Year in 2002 for his contributions in the New York City area following the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. Jolley graduated from the College of William & Mary, where he was a teammate of current Dynamo captain Wade Barrett, in 1996. He made his Dynamo broadcast debut filling in as a color analyst on 790 The Sports Animal for the MLS opener against New England on March 29.

Fernandez provided sideline commentary and pre- and post-game interviews for the Dynamo's April 6 home opener against FC Dallas and will continue in that role this season. A 2003 graduate of the University of Houston with a degree in public relations, Fernandez works for Futbol Mundial magazine. In 2006, she was the only female finalist for the ESPN Deportes reality show Dream Job: El Reportero after winning the Houston tryout.

The Dynamo and Channel 55 will team up for 17 broadcasts in 2008, including Saturday's game against the Galaxy, which kicks off at 9:30 p.m. Central Time, and the April 26 road game against the Columbus Crew.

The two-time defending MLS Cup champion Dynamo will return to Robertson Stadium for home games May 3 and May 10 against Chivas USA and the Colorado Rapids, respectively. Fans can purchase tickets via Ticketmaster or by calling the Dynamo office at 713-276-7500.
