Dynamo 3, Wizards 2 -- quote sheet

HOUSTON DYNAMO 3, KANSAS CITY WIZARDS 2

KANSAS CITY WIZARDS HEAD COACH BOB GANSLER

On the difference between the first and second halves:
"[Houston] got a goal in the first [11] minutes of the second half. We could argue until midnight if it was a foul or not. Was it a shot that could have been saved or a shot that couldn't have been saved? That is what our film will tell us. We did come back after giving up the first goal in the first half. We talked about how to get that second goal, but in no time at all, we are down again. The big question that we have to ask ourselves is, 'Is this our level? Can we play better than this?' If we can't then tonight's game is proof of that, but I think there is more there and I think the guys feel the same way. We have to work on it and get it done."

KANSAS CITY WIZARDS FORWARD DAVY ARNAUD

On having a chance at the end:
"I guess that there is one positive to look at, but we are in a hole right now and it is going to take us digging deep and fighting. The last goal from Jimmy [Conrad] at least gave us a chance."

KANSAS CITY WIZARDS DEFENDER NICK GARCIA

On what it will take to turn things around:
"First of all we need to be positive, keep our heads up and keep working hard. I don't think there is really a magical potion that we can really say or do. It is just a matter of consistently playing for 90 minutes to get the job done, keeping a clean sheet in the back and making the most of our opportunities. It is either one or the other. It is either we are doing something on the defensive or attacking side and not doing something on the other side of the ball. We are paying a price for it and that is costing us the game. We need to keep plugging away and making our own good fortune."

On only having one game this upcoming week:
"I think it will help not having a game in the middle of the week from the standpoint of recovery and preparation for the next game. You need at least a week of quality work and rest before you can put on a good performance and I think it will help."

HOUSTON DYNAMO HEAD COACH DOMINIC KINNEAR

On the win:
"Eastern Conference or Western Conference, I think we knew going into the game tonight what Dallas did in the afternoon. You need to make sure that you keep pace with them. To come here and get three goals, the way the guys fought from the first minute to the 90th minute was excellent. I think we deserve to get three points for sure. In the end I think the chances we created were good and we were deserving of the three goals. We were defensively strong enough to keep them off and it was a great victory for us. We have lost just once away from home so far this year, going 2-1-5 on the road. We are competitive away from home as well as at home."

HOUSTON DYNAMO MIDFIELDER BRAD DAVIS

On his goal:
"It was a set piece. Alejandro [Moreno] did well and got fouled which was a big part of our game. Even on the corner kicks, we are good at set pieces. We have a lot of guys that can attack and score. Alejandro and Brian [Ching] did a good job tonight and worked their butts off. Alejandro did a good job and got a foul called. In that area I feel real comfortable, so I stepped up, I struck it, and it felt well. I am in my hometown so all my family is here and it was a great goal all around. That is 100 percent my shot. From around the box, I am going to take that shot. I knew I was going to hit that ball without anyone touching it. From that angle we have been practicing and I feel comfortable hitting that ball. It is a part of my game that I work on a lot and I cherish it."

On his assist to Eddie Robinson:
"From the other side Dwayne [De Rosario] was hitting them. I don't know, it looked pretty tight over there and it looked like he didn't have enough room to really get it in the air and it is really about the service and from his side their wasn't much there. On my side it was pretty tight too, but all we needed to do was concentrate on getting the ball in the box and we got three or four guys that are going to attack the ball with everything they had."

HOUSTON DYNAMO FORWARD BRIAN CHING

On his goal:
"I sat at the top of the box and I just wanted to place it in there. I hit it well and it went right inside the post, which was a relief."

On set piece goals and the win:
"That is the way the game goes sometimes. If you look at soccer, a lot of the goals are scored on set pieces and today that is the way it went. I think we created a lot of opportunities through the way of play; we were just unlucky most the time. It is good to finish one off."
