Dynamo 3, Chivas 2 -- quote sheet

HOUSTON DYNAMO 2, CHIVAS USA 0; DYNAMO WIN SERIES 3-2 ON AGGREGATE

HOUSTON DYNAMO HEAD COACH DOMINIC KINNEAR

On the result:
"Great win. The fans were awesome tonight. I think the first 'congratulations' goes to them. Things went our way tonight. I think it was a penalty and I think it was a red card; the referee was on top of that. Our guys kept our cool, and got the equalizer. I'm sure they didn't want to go an extra 30 minutes. The commitment from the guys until the whistle was blown for the end of the game was fantastic. I thought it was a shame that punches were thrown by some experienced players."

On the frustrations of the first half:
"They were defending corners well. They sit 11 guys in the box, and we send about six so you have 17 guys in one area so it's hard to get room at times. We had some good service. A couple of times we were close. I thought they defended well in the first 45 minutes."

On Dwayne De Rosario:
"He's a menace when he makes his late runs. He got a penalty, and he crossed the ball for the second goal so he definitely had an impact on the game."

HOUSTON DYNAMO MIDFIELDER DWAYNE DE ROSARIO

On the atmosphere in Robertson:
"It was obviously a huge win for us. I'm very thankful to the fans because they played such a huge role in our success. The fans are like a 12th man on the field."

On playing Colorado at home:
"The fans are the advantage. Having the fans to back you helps a lot. We're confident in playing Colorado. I think we'd rather play here than in Dallas [for the conference championship.]

On what it will take to get to Frisco:
"It's going to take everything that we did tonight. It's going to take desire, fight, and finish when we get our chances."

HOUSTON DYNAMO FORWARD BRIAN CHING

On the goal:
"Good play by Dwayne to get it across. The ball just came to me, and I was open. I didn't feel like I played particularly well all game, but it felt great to get the winner especially in the 90th minute."

On first half frustrations:
"Yeah I was frustrated. I was frustrated with myself and with the way we were playing, but that happens in games. You just have to fight through it. Give credit to the guys on the field. They put their hearts and soul into the game, and we came out with a great result."

On finishing in 90 minutes:
"We put a lot of effort into the 90 minutes. Our guys were pretty tired emotionally and physically. A couple of guys came up to me and said that they were glad they didn't have to go the extra 30 [minutes]."

CHIVAS USA HEAD COACH BOB BRADLEY

On the result:
"We felt that at halftime we had a good understanding of the job. A couple of plays turned the game in the second half. It's very difficult to give up the second goal late in the game."

On the red card:
"After the initial foul I think there was some pushing and shoving, and I don't think the referees handled the situation very well."

CHIVAS USA MIDFIELDER JESSE MARSCH

On the result:
"I would say that's the toughest loss I've ever been dealt. We put a lot into the season. We have a bunch of guys around here that have worked nine months to put us into a position to do something special, and you just feel cheated. That's the part that sickens me a little bit."

On the refereeing:
"I feel like we've had some tough ones this season. Michael Kennedy called a tough red against us in Dallas a month ago, and that's a tough red here."

CHIVAS USA FORWARD JUAN FRANCISCO PALENCIA

On the red card:
"I deserved the red card, because I pushed [Ricardo] Clark, but he pushed me in the face too, and that's the thing [the referee] didn't see. I deserved the red card, but he deserved one too."

On the play up to the red card:
"I don't know what to say. I'm frustrated right now, because I got a red card. I left my team with 10 players, and that's not fair. I apologize for that. I felt we were holding the score pretty good. After that incident, I didn't see the rest of the game. My teammates told me that the referee didn't call a very good game."

On the season:
"I don't want to lose, I don't like to lose. I think this year we did pretty well. Every time every team plays against us they play 100 percent."
