HOUSTON DYNAMO 2, FC DALLAS 1

HOUSTON DYNAMO HEAD COACH DOMINIC KINNEAR

On the game:
"We defended pretty well, we broke out OK. I think it's a well deserved three points for the guys. It's a long time coming."

On Corey Ashe:
"He's a left-sided player. That's kind of like he's position. I thought that with Bobby Rhine out there maybe he could take advantage of a guy that's maybe a little bit less quick than him. He was creating trouble toward the end of the game spinning down the line. I think his energy and his speed was to our benefit tonight. He's done a lot when he's come on, so why not keep trying it? In every opportunity he's given, he's shown well."

On Pat Onstad's ejection:
"If he's going to foul him he's got to come out of the box, and I think once he was out of the box he was committed to fouling him. In the end it turned out to be the right decision. We had to play with 10 men, but it all worked out."

HOUSTON DYNAMO FORWARD JOSEPH NGWENYA

On his first goal of the season:
"I've had a lot of chances in four games. Finally I scored today. Especially to get a win - it feels pretty good."

HOUSTON DYNAMO MIDFIELDER COREY ASHE

On the game:
"The last couple weeks have been frustrating. I just try to get out there and give the team all I've got. We work hard each day in practice."

On his first MLS assist:
"Initially, I felt the guy on my back, and I knew I didn't want to go backwards so I ended up turning. My first instinct was to go, to run at him with speed. Luckily [Ricardo Clark] was there to slip it in to Joseph [Ngwenya] the first time, and we scored."

On playing in three consecutive games as a rookie:
"It means a lot. It shows that the coaches are starting to put their trust in me. The players are backing me up. Overall, it is just great for my confidence. If I make a mistake they get on me, but it's also encouraging."

HOUSTON DYNAMO MIDFIELDER RICARDO CLARK

On FCD's goal:
"It was bad play on my part. I tried to bump it back to [Richard] Mulrooney, but it didn't go there. It was a technical error on my part. I think that it was kind of a drive to get back in the second half and step up. As a team we showed a lot of character. It was pretty much game over because we took it to them after that."

On his goal:
"At the time it was like I had made up for my mistake, but we still had one more goal to score and 40 minutes to play. That's what I was thinking at that time."

On getting called to the U.S. national team:
"It's an honor. Everybody loves playing for their country. I'm just going to take it all in, take advantage of the opportunity, and just enjoy it."

HOUSTON DYNAMO FORWARD BRIAN CHING

On the game:
"It's a good comeback by us I think. We were unlucky in the first half again. They scored off their only shot on goal. That's kind of been the theme for us this year. [Ricardo Clark] played phenomenal. He scored a great goal, and had a great assist. Hopefully we can build on this win."

On getting called to the U.S. national team:
"It's always an honor. I'm not in the form I want to be going into this Gold Cup, but it's exciting. I can't wait to play with some of those guys again. It's always a step up. Hopefully I can play a little bit better there and score some goals for the U.S. national team.

FC DALLAS HEAD COACH STEVE MORROW

On the game:
"I thought we were by far the better team early on in the game and deserved to be one-nil up. And then we stopped passing the ball; gave up possession to easily; allowed them to come back at us, allowed them to gain a bit of momentum, giving the ball away to easy. In the second half we just didn't come out. We started the second half very, very flat - very disappointed with our second half display. Lacked a lot of character, determination. Not good enough in the second half."

On Clarence Goodson's injury:
"We're not too sure yet, he did something to his hamstring. I thought that happened at a very bad time for us. Clarence has been playing very well; it was a very big loss for us at an important time in the game.

"I think it definitely unsettled us. We were defending well at the back. Clarence is an important of our back line, and like I said, he was a big loss to us when he went off."

On Pablo Ricchetti's play and him wearing the captain's armband:
"He's a big part of our team. I had no hesitation in giving it to him. He's done very well for us so far. Again, in the second half, not just Pablo but several others we just didn't get enough from."

On Ramon Nunez:
"I thought he had a very quiet second half, couldn't find the ball. He was able to find good gaps in the first half, get on the ball in good positions, and was difficult to pick up. We just didn't see that from him in the second half."
