Dunivant called to U.S. national team

Todd Dunivant has made two apperances with the U.S. men's national team so far.

SECAUCUS, N.J. - U.S. Soccer announced yesterday that U.S. Men's National Team head coach Bob Bradley has called up New York Red Bulls defender Todd Dunivant to the training camp squad that will begin workouts today, January 25 at U.S. Soccer's National Training Center in Carson, CA.

The group of players is preparing for the United States' 52nd all-time meeting with regional rival Mexico on February 7 at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Ariz. The game will be televised live on ESPN2 and Univision starting at 9:00 p.m. ET, with kickoff set for 9:25 p.m. ET.

Dunivant has two career caps with the U.S. Men's National Team - both of which were earned in 2006. His first one came in a 5-0 win over Norway on January 29, where he played the full 90 minutes and registered two assists. Dunivant also featured in a 3-2 victory over Japan on February 10. Bradley called up Dunivant into training camp on December 21, 2006 in preparation for the team's international friendly against Denmark on January 20, but he was not on the final 18-man roster which defeated the Danes that day, 3-1.

The Wheat Ridge, CO native, acquired by the Red Bulls last year on June 27, 2006 from the Los Angeles Galaxy in exchange for a partial allocation, scored two goals and recorded a pair of assists in nine appearances (eight starts) during his time with New York. Dunivant, who had been hampered with a quadriceps injury during the season, also started and played the full 90 minutes in both of the Red Bulls' playoff games last October against D.C. United.
