Talented Selena Gomez plays middle child Alex Russo, the adventurous teenage daughter who inherits magical powers in "Wizards of Waverly Place." She has recently been touted as "the next Hannah Montana" in People Magazine.

"We are ecstatic to bring Selena Gomez to a Wizards game and offer our fans the opportunity to meet her up close," Wizards Vice President of Marketing and Communications Rob Thomson said. Born July 22, 1992, in Dallas, Texas, Gomez, began her acting career at age seven, spending her birthday at an open casting call competing among thousands of other hopefuls for a role in the television series "Barney & Friends." Gomez was cast as a series regular for two seasons. In 2003, she was cast in "Spy Kids 3D."

In the summer of 2004, Disney Channel began a worldwide casting search for promising young talent. Three weeks after Selena's local audition in Dallas, she was invited to Los Angeles to meet Disney Channel programming executives. They cast Gomez in a pilot that year. The following year, she landed roles in two Disney Channel pilots and one became a series, "The Wizards of Waverly Place."

Among her recent credits she stars as an insecure tomboy who has the task of helping a Princess fit in as a normal teenage girl in the upcoming Disney Channel Original Movie "Princess Protection Program." She has also guest starred in Disney Channel's hit series "The Suite Life of Zack & Cody" and "Hannah Montana."

Newly relocated to Los Angeles, Gomez resides with her parents. Along with her film and television career, she is exploring opportunities in the music industry.
