Dichio to miss Vancouver game

Fans love Danny Dichio's physical style, but it may have resulted in the forward suffering a concussion.

Toronto FC striker Danny Dichio will miss the Nutrilite Canadian Championship clash at Vancouver Whitecaps on Wednesday night, July 9. Dichio is staying in Toronto with a suspected concussion. The game is live on Gol TV. Kick off 10:00 pm ET.

"We don't know when he picked up the concussion," said Coach John Carver. "Danny can't remember anything in the Vancouver game actually happening to him, so it could have been at any stage. He did say he remembered blocking a ball that was hit hard towards goal and hit him on the top of the head. We have to keep an eye on it and see what happens but he's not travelling with us. If he's ok later in the week we will fly him into Chicago for the game," Carver explained.

Olivier Tebily and Todd Dunivant are the only other players not making the trip to Vancouver. "Olivier has a bad sprain of the ankle and Todd is still out as well. He's heading to Colorado for an operation on his ankle."

Jim Brennan misses the game through suspension after picking up two yellow cards in the tournament, but he will travel with the team. "We're going to take Jim with the squad so that he can train and get ready for the Chicago match," said Carver.
