Defending champs meet the media

Dynamo meet the media

The Houston Dynamo held its first annual playoff media day Tuesday afternoon, ahead of its first-round playoff series against FC Dallas.

Media members from every Houston media outlet were present at the event, supporting the defending champs as they make a run for a second-straight MLS Cup.

"We feel very confident about our chances in the playoffs," said Dynamo head coach Dominic Kinnear. We know FC Dallas is a tough team with players like Kenny Cooper, Denilson, and Carlos Ruiz. We expect them to play us tough throughout the series, but we will approach them just like any other team: with respect, but never with fear."

Only one team in MLS history has repeated as MLS Cup champion: D.C. United in 1996 and 1997.

"I think we have a good chance to repeat. We have a solid team with members who are veterans. Many of these men have won multiple MLS Cups and know what it takes to play at this level. We just can't wait to get started."

This is the fist time both Houston and FC Dallas meet in the postseason. The first game of this two-contest series is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. this Saturday, October 30. The second game is slated for Friday, November 2, at 7:30 p.m.
