De Rosario returns home to Toronto

Homecomings are always sweet. Dwayne De Rosario is planning on his being a celebration.

Mixed feelings will be evident at Wednesday's first-ever meeting in Canada between the Dynamo and Toronto FC. Fans used to cheering for Toronto might find themselves rooting for favorite son De Rosario, who hails from nearby Scarborough and will have a huge rooting section, even if Dwayne plays for the visiting team.

"For me, it's huge. It'll be a great day," said De Rosario Tuesday at BMO Field. "To be back home will make things interesting. I can't wait to be heckled and embraced at the same time."

De Rosario is a popular member of the Canadian National Team, and still operates many charities in the Toronto area throughout the season.

Among the rooters expecting to wear orange Wednesday amidst a usual sea of red FC colors is De Rosario's father, Tony.

"This will be something special," said the elder De Rosario. "A lot of Scarborough will be here, and he has represented the Toronto area well."

Also making a semi-homecoming is Vancouver native Pat Onstad, who will once again tend goal for the Dynamo.
