De Rosario in midst of busy week

For Dynamo midfielder Dwayne De Rosario, this past week has been rather intense. On Wednesday "De-Ro" played his second of three games in just a little over a week, helping the Canadian national team tie Costa Rica 1-1 at BMO Field in Toronto.

A native of Scarborough, Ontario, De Rosario enjoys every opportunity he gets of going back to play for his home country.

"It is nice to represent your country. Being asked to play for your Nation is a privilege and an honor," he said.

More than that, it gave him the opportunity to avoid seeing his team fall to their CONCACAF rivals. Thanks to him, Canada's only goal came in the 54th minute to tie the game. Costa Rica was down to 10 players after Randal Azofeifa received his second yellow card of the contest in the 49th minute. To knot the contest up at 1, De Rosario made a great play on a cross.

"It was a nice cross. The defender misread the ball and it sailed just over his head and I was able to chest (it) down to myself and had a good shot on goal."

Now it's back to business. De Rosario returns to the Dynamo on Friday, only to leave for Los Angeles on Saturday afternoon to face the Galaxy on Sunday at the Home Depot Center. The Galaxy currently sit in last place in the Western Conference with 17 points after 20 games played.

"Games against the Galaxy are always intense," said De Rosario. "They are a good ball club and they compete."

Competition does promise to be intense, as the Dynamo will be looking for a win from the get-go that will allow them to claim a spot in the playoffs, if both Columbus and Colorado lose their respective matches.

Kickoff for the Dynamo match (TV: Channel 55, Channel 43; Radio: 790 AM, 850 AM and 101.7 FM) is set for 7:00 p.m. CT.
