D.C. United Veteran's Appreciation Night

WASHINGTON, D.C. - D.C. United, in conjunction with the Department of Veterans Affairs and Verizon Wireless, will be hosting Veterans Appreciation Day on Sunday, October 15 to honor all area Veterans who have answered the call to arms in defense of our nation. On this night, the Black-and-Red will be playing their final regular season match against the visiting Chicago Fire. The game is scheduled to kickoff at 5:00 p.m. ET and will be broadcast live on espn2.

Veterans Appreciation Day will be D.C. United's third event this season honoring our nation's Armed Forces and civil service members. Working with America Supports You, a nationwide Department of Defense program in support of America's troops and the USO, D.C. United has already held two other similar events at earlier home games. On June 3, the Team hosted its 7th Annual Armed Forces Appreciation Day to honor our area military men and women and their families. On September 9, the Club paid tribute to local law enforcement, fire departments and emergency medical services with its Hometown Heroes Night.

Veterans Appreciation Day will showcase the Department of Veterans Affairs and various Veterans Service Organizations, and will be highlighted by a Decades of Veterans Salute, Rolling Thunder, and a performance by the USAF Band, Silver Wings.
