D.C. United announce ticket prices for 2008 season

D.C. United today announced ticket prices for full season, half season, and flex ticket plans for the 2008 season. All 2008 packages allow unprecedented access to D.C. United action with an expanded 20-game season ticket package, 10-game half season plans and an eight-game flex ticket option. Current plan holders wishing to lock themselves into 2008 tickets at 2007 prices may do so during an Early Renewal Period, which runs through November 16. The Regular Renewal Period will run from November 16-December 31. Season tickets and partial plans offer several plan-holder benefits such as a ticket exchange program, discounted youth pricing, priority to other soccer events and direct access to D.C. United's Customer Service Department.

"United has established a large and loyal following throughout its 12-year history," said Stephen Zack, United Executive Vice President. "In 2008, we will continue to provide a championship quality product at a very competitive price point. By packaging all of our matches into ticketing plans for next year, we are able to provide efficient and discounted access to United action throughout the MLS regular season and additional domestic and international tournaments we participate in. In addition to extending 2007 prices for the 2008 season to our current plan holders as a thank you for their long-standing support, we believe that tickets to United matches next year will provide great value to future fans of the Black-and-Red."

Prices for full season tickets, which include all MLS matches and five additional D.C. United games, are as follows: Mezzanine seats ($800), VIP seats ($600), Premium seats ($440), and Spectator seats ($320). For a half season ticket, which includes eight MLS matches and two additional D.C. United games, Mezzanine seats will cost $450, whereas VIP seats are $320, Premium seats are $250, and Spectator seats are $180. Flex plans, which include eight vouchers for matches, start at $280 for VIP seats, with Premium seats costing $224, and Spectator seats costing $160. Youth Pricing ticket plans will also return for the 2008 season. Through the popular ticketing program, children ages 3-16 are eligible for discounted ticket packages, including full season tickets at $400, $300, $220 or $160, half season plans at $230, $160, $130 or $90, and flex packages at $144, $112 or $80. All youth season ticket holders receive complimentary membership in the D.C. United Youth Fan Club. Children ages two and under are granted free entry to all United matches.

D.C. United Account Manager ticketing technology will continue to be available to D.C. United customers next season. This feature, developed by TicketMaster, will allow customers to pay invoices on-line, forward their tickets to others via e-mail to print off at their home or office, and even set up discount offers for their co-workers, soccer team families and other affiliated groups or organizations that they belong to.

D.C. United is currently riding a League-best, 12-game unbeaten streak and stands atop the Major League Soccer standings, five points ahead of the New England Revolution in the Eastern Conference. The Black-and-Red will play its two remaining League matches at RFK Stadium. Tickets to United's highly anticipated match-ups with the Chicago Fire (10/13) and the Columbus Crew (10/20), as well as for home playoff games and MLS Cup, are available via www.dcunited.com
or by calling 202-587-5000.

United currently ranks second in League attendance for the 2007 season, averaging more than 20,000 patrons a game. The mark is the highest average for the club since 2001 when United led Major League Soccer in attendance with an average of 21,518 per game. The club is expecting crowds of more than 20,000 for each of its final two regular season home dates and has currently sold more than 22,000 seats to next month's MLS Cup, scheduled for November 18 at RFK Stadium.

With 10 major domestic and international trophies to the team's credit, D.C. United is the most successful team in Major League Soccer history. The club has won four MLS Cup championships (1996, 1997, 1999 and 2004), three Supporters' Shields (1997, 1998 and 2006), a CONCACAF Champions' Cup (1998), an InterAmerican Cup (1998) and a U.S. Open Cup title (1996). United has made the playoffs nine of 12 seasons, winning 15 of 19 playoff series, and has an overall record of 24-8-2 in all playoff games.

With MLS Cup being held at RFK Stadium this year, United has the unique opportunity to be only the third team in League history to play the championship game in its home stadium. United is the only club to have previously won MLS Cup in its home stadium, when it did so in front of 57,431 fans at MLS Cup 1997. D.C. earned a 2-1 victory over the Colorado Rapids in 1997. The victory also marks the first time a professional sports franchise from Washington, DC has clinched a league title playing in the Nation's Capital.
