Washington, D.C. (October 4, 2007) - D.C. United announced today event details for 'Copa D.C. VII,' the yearly 6v6 indoor tournament hosted by the club and presented by Mid-Atlantic Cooperation Trust, The Electrical Alliance, Jim Coleman Honda and RCN. The opening rounds of the tournament will kickoff on Sunday, November 4 at the Rockville SportsPlex, with the quarterfinals, semis and final taking place on Saturday, November 10.
Teams are guaranteed three 40-minute games, 12 tournament t-shirts, 12 gift bags and 12 2007 MLS Cup ticket vouchers - all for a $399 entry fee. Teams are limited to a maximum of 12 players per team.
The champion of 'Copa D.C. VII' will receive a check for $3,000, a trophy, gold medals for each player on the team and free entry into 2008's 'Copa D.C. VIII.' The runner-up will receive a check for $1,500 and silver medals, the third place team a $1000 check and bronze medals, while the fourth place team will receive a $399 check and fourth place medals.
