COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Columbus Crew today announced its schedule for the 2007 Major League Soccer season, which features a home date against Los Angeles on Sunday, Sept. 30, at 5 p.m., well after global icon David Beckham is scheduled to join the Galaxy.

The 2007 season will be a 30-game slate, including 15 games at home and 15 on the road. The home schedule features nine Saturday games, four on Sundays and one each on Wednesday and Thursday. The two weeknight games, as well as one more to be announced, will be the popular "Bob Evans Buck-A-Brat Nights" at Crew Stadium.

With Toronto FC joining the Eastern Conference as the first MLS team based outside the United States, each MLS team will play two games against the other 12 teams, once at home and once on the road, accounting for 24 games of the season. The remaining six games are played against intra-conference foes. Eastern Conference rivals D.C. United, New York and Toronto will visit Crew Stadium twice.

The Crew will open its 12th MLS campaign at home on Saturday, April 7, by playing host to Claudio Reyna and the New York Red Bulls at 7 p.m. That game will be televised live on HDNet. The Black & Gold will then head to Salt Lake City to take on Real Salt Lake on Saturday, April 14, at 6 p.m. (ET) at Rice-Eccles Stadium. RSL and newly acquired Freddy Adu will later make their lone appearance at Crew Stadium on July 7.

"I like both the reduction in the number of midweek games and the incorporation of Sundays into the schedule, which - along with our Saturday games - will allow Columbus-area sports fans better opportunities to enjoy Crew games," said Crew General Manager Mark McCullers. "Obviously, the L.A. Galaxy's recent signing of David Beckham makes their visit here that much more compelling and we're looking forward to a sellout crowd at Crew Stadium on Sept. 30."

Single-game tickets will go on sale in early March, but the Sept. 30 game against L.A. is part of all full- and half-season ticket plans, which are currently available by calling 614-447-CREW (2739) and at TheCrew.com.

MLS and its national television partners, ABC/ESPN, Univision, Fox Soccer Channel/Fox Sports en Español and HDNet, also unveiled the national TV schedule today. Columbus is currently scheduled to appear on national television 13 times, eight times on HDNet, three times on Fox Soccer Channel, once on ESPN2 and once on Univision's TeleFutura. The Crew's local TV schedule will be released in the near future.

The 2007 Sierra Mist MLS All-Star Game is scheduled for Thursday, July 19, at 6 p.m. (ET) on ESPN2 and TeleFutura, when the MLS stars will play host to Celtic FC of Glasgow, Scotland, at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colo. MLS Cup 2007 will cap year 12 at RFK Stadium in Washington, D.C., on Sunday, November 18, at Noon on ABC.

Founded by Lamar Hunt, the Columbus Crew is Ohio's Major League Soccer club, anchoring a diverse sports and entertainment enterprise. Fans can become Crew Soccer Nation members by purchasing full season ticket packages or partial plans through TheCrew.com and 614-447-CREW.
