Crew to broadcast all games in Spanish on Radio Sol, 1550-AM

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Columbus Crew, in conjunction with Radio Sol, 1550-AM, announced today that Radio Sol will continue to serve as the Spanish Radio home of the Crew - and that for the first time ever, all Crew games, home and away, will be broadcast this season. The 2007 campaign will be the club's fifth on Radio Sol and the seventh overall that it has aired its games on Spanish radio in Columbus.

"The Crew organization remains committed to forging a sound and mutually beneficial relationship with the local Hispanic community," said Chad Schroeder, the Crew's Vice President of Corporate Sales & Broadcasting. "Our partnership with Radio Sol is a vital initiative in serving that valued audience."

Former Crew assistant coach Eduardo "Eddie" Carvacho, the club's new Director of Hispanic Business Development, joins the broadcast team, which also includes former Crew midfielder Marcelo Carrera and Benny Pietrangelo.

"We are excited to again carry the Columbus Crew on WXOL Radio Sol for the 2007 season," said station GM Luis Orozco. "We think it's a great fit for our audience with the presence of such Hispanic players as Marcos Gonzalez and Andy Herron. Our listeners do not have to be enticed as they already love the game of soccer."

Founded by Lamar Hunt, the Columbus Crew is Ohio's Major League Soccer club, anchoring a diverse sports and entertainment enterprise. One of the league's Charter Members, it will open its 12th season overall and ninth in first-of-its-kind Columbus Crew Stadium on Saturday, April 7, when it plays host to Claudio Reyna and the Eastern Conference-rival New York Red Bulls.
