The Crew and Columbus COSI (Center of Science and Industry) have partnered to bring over 30 characters from the popular Star Wars films out to Saturday's (July 8) game vs. D.C. United at 7:30 p.m. at Crew Stadium.
Characters expected to be on hand include Darth Vader, Chewbacca, Jedi knights and Strom Troopers. They will be in full costume within the plaza during pre-game, starting at 6 p.m. when gates open, to sign autographs and pose for pictures. Halftime will feature a reenactment of a battle scene between good and evil.</p>
Fans can also experience the Force with The Crew with purchase of a special ticket package which includes a midfield ticket to a Crew home MLS game in July plus a ticket to the Star Wars: Where Science Meets Imagination new exhibit at COSI. At COSI, fans can check out costumes and props from all six Star Wars films with real-world technologies, video interviews with filmmakers, scientists and engineers, and two large Engineering Design Labs, where visitors can build and test speeders and robots. Single-game tickets for the 2006 home season are on sale at the Crew Stadium Box Office, all Central Ohio Ticketmaster retail locations, via Ticketmaster phone at 614-431-3600 and on-line at TheCrew.com.</p>
