Club statement on stadium negotiations

Oliver Luck

On Wednesday, Houston Mayor Bill White released a private letter from MLS Commissioner Don Garber to the Houston Dynamo ownership group.

The commissioner's letter was intended to be a private communication that emphasized the importance of finalizing a Dynamo stadium deal. The letter was not intended to serve as a public threat or signal any desire for the club to relocate.

The Dynamo and their ownership believe that Houston is the best soccer city in America, and they continue their firm commitment to this community. A new stadium is a necessity, and the Dynamo remain focused on securing a stadium deal that would help make the franchise economically viable for the long-term.

We will continue to work with Mayor White and the city in our quest to make this stadium a reality. Our goal is to give the best soccer fans in America a place they call home in support of the team they love.
