Clark reduced to spectator

For the time being and foreseeable future, Ricardo Clark has been reduced to a spectator.

Clark, in the wake of his nine-game suspension for his altercation last Sunday with FC Dallas' Carlos Ruiz, sat high in the Robertson Stadium suites while his teammates suffered a 2-1 loss to the L.A. Galaxy.

Clark hopes to file an official appeal to his suspension early this week.

"I feel bad for my team. It couldn't have come at a worse time," Clark said in visiting with Steve Mark during the Dynamo broadcast Sunday on 790 The Sports Animal. "I feel pretty down about it and hopefully we can get something going with my appeal and maybe it'll work in my favor before the playoffs."

"First, I'd like to apologize to everyone watching-fans, family, kids. I reacted before thinking of the consequences," said Clark. "I'm glad Ruiz got out of the game without getting hurt. I'll learn from this and make sure it doesn't happen the next time."

This season, Clark missed eight MLS games due to injury or U.S. National team callups. The Dynamo had won all or tied in all of them.

Until the ninth, on Sunday.
