CARSON, Calif. - This Saturday, Chivas USA embarks on its 'Road to Glory'. The Major League Soccer club today announced that FSN Prime Ticket will air Game 1 of its Western Conference Semifinal Series versus the Kansas City Wizards, live from Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri, this Saturday, Oct. 27 at 5:00 p.m. PT (7:00 p.m. CT). Fans and media should note that this represents a change from the originally announced kickoff time at Kansas City.
The decisive Game 2 of the two-game, total-goals series will air the following Saturday, Nov. 3, on sister station FSN West, live from The Home Depot Center at 7:30 p.m. PT. For both broadcasts, 'Chivas Live', Chivas USA's pregame show featuring play-by-play announcer Christian Miles, analyst Bernardo Osuna and sideline reporter Christine Nubla will start a half-hour before kickoff (4:30 p.m. PT on Oct. 27; 7:00 p.m. PT on Nov. 3).
The team that scores the most goals in the two-game series will advance to the Western Conference Final vs. the Houston Dynamo or FC Dallas. As the Western Conference's top seed, Chivas USA would host the Western Conference Final the following Saturday, Nov. 10 should it prevail in 180 minutes vs. Kansas City.
Chivas USA finished the 2007 MLS regular season with a 15-7-8 record (W-L-T) and 53 points to clinch first place in MLS's Western Conference and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs, just two seasons after finishing last in the league with a 4-22-6 record as an expansion club. Chivas USA trains this week at The Home Depot Center before embarking Friday en route to Kansas City. A full team itinerary it below.
