CARSON, Calif. - Following Saturday's 2-0 win over Western Conference leaders FC Dallas, Chivas USA (3-3-2, 11 pts) resumes training Wednesday at The Home Depot Center ahead of this weekend's exhibition against the Seattle Sounders of the United Soccer Leagues First Division, to be held Saturday, June 2 at 7:00 p.m. PT at Seattle's Qwest Field. Former Sounders Maykel Galindo and Preston Burpo will face off against the club they led to the 2005 USL First Division championship; the match is part of the transfer deal for Galindo, the Cuban forward who currently leads Chivas USA with five goals on the 2007 season.
For the match, Chivas USA will be without the services of midfielders Sacha Kljestan and Jesse March, defender Jonathan Bornstein and forward Ante Razov, as the quartet was named this week by Bob Bradley to the United States' 19-man roster for the Americans' upcoming friendly versus China on June 2 in San Jose, California. The four players, along with goalkeeper Brad Guzan, have been training with the United States at The Home Depot Center since Monday. Guzan, like Bornstein, was named to the U.S.'s rosters for both the China friendly and the upcoming CONCACAF Gold Cup; however, Guzan is expected to travel to Seattle with his Chivas USA teammates.
