CARSON, Calif. - Chivas USA today announced the release of defender Jorge Barrera.
The 25-year-old Barrera, who joined Chivas USA on March 2, 2007, as a Senior International, played 253 minutes for Chivas USA in the 2007 MLS Reserve Division, but did not see regular-season action with Chivas USA's first team.
Barrera, a right-sided player, has signed with Mexican First Division club Santos Laguna for Mexico's upcoming Apertura 2007 season.
