Chivas USA under-19's fall 6-3 to Club Deportivo Guadalahara's Segunda Division team in opening match of six-day Mexico tour

Chivas USA's U-19 Team fell 6-3 to the Segunda División side of sister team Club Deportivo Guadalajara at the Verde Valle training complex, on Day 1 of the U-19's trip to Guadalajara, the birthplace of Chivas. Sueño MLS Winner Jorge Flores scored two goals for the Chivas USA U-19's, but it was not enough as the MLS side gave up six goals to their Mexican counterparts, one day after arriving in Guadalajara.

"This game was a good experience for us on our first full day here in Guadalajara, but clearly we are disappointed by the result," said Chivas USA U-19 Head Coach Sacha van der Most. "We look forward to another chance to prove ourselves tomorrow morning against Atlas."

Chivas de Guadalajara opened the score in the 13th minute after Chivas USA's Erik Rivas had nearly put Chivas USA ahead with on a one-on-one against the goalkeeper. Three minute later, Anaheim's own Jorge Flores tied the game 1-1 with a header off a corner kick by Gerson Mayen. However, two combinations over Chivas USA's left wing would result in two goals for Guadalajara before halftime.

In the first ten minutes after the break, Guadalajara scored two more, before Flores - who was identified by Chivas USA earlier this year in a nationally televised open tryout - bagged another header off a cross by Bryan Hernández to put the score at 5-2. Another cross from the Guadalajara right wing resulted in a sixth goal for the hosts, before midfielder Erik Rivas pulled one back for Chivas USA, off an assist by Edson Rivera.
