Chivas USA lost to Seattle Sounders 3-1 in the U.S. Open Cup

Chivas USA was eliminated in the third round of the US Open Cup, after a 3-1 defeat by Seattle Sounders (USL-1), in a game played at Qwest Field.


Lauren Merlin scored Chivas USA's only goal in the 16th minute, but Seba Le Toux had a pair in the 44th and 51st minutes, to give the Sounders the lead and later in the contest, in the 82st minute, Roger Lavesque scored the third for the home team. The Seattle Sounders will face Colorado Rapids (MLS) in the next round of the 'Lamar Hunt' US Open Cup.
